Kerryn Wuth - Ballito & Durban Dietitian

Registered Dietitian
Specialised in Paediatric and Sports Nutrition
BSc Dietetics, 2002 (UNP) | PGDip Dietetics, 2003 (UNP) | Dip. Sport Nutr, 2010 (IOC)

Kerryn qualified as a dietitian in 2003 at the University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg. After completing her community service year at Montebello Hospital in Dalton she worked for two years as a clinical dietitian, consulting with both adults and children, at Stanger Hospital. It was whilst working in government hospitals that Kerryn developed her passion for working with children.

In 2006 Kerryn took up the challenge to move to London where she had the opportunity to work for 5 years specialising as a paediatric dietitian at both The North Middlesex Hospital and St George’s Hospital. She worked closely with specialist paediatric consultants in the areas of gastroenterology, diabetology, paediatric medicine and paediatric surgery.

“Now that I’m a mom, not only have I been able to successfully implement all the advice I have been giving parents over the years, but I have also gained a greater appreciation of the practical aspects and concerns that parents have on a day to day basis regarding their childrens’ eating habits.”

Having competed in various sports disciplines throughout her career, Kerryn developed a keen interest in sports nutrition. While living in London she qualified to complete a two year Diploma in Sports Nutrition through the International Olympic Committee, specialising as a sports dietitian. This opportunity enabled her to learn from international leaders in the field testing the latest scientific methods driving sports nutrition.

Kerryn moved back to South Africa at the end of 2011 to get married and start a family. She set up her private practice in Durban where she works as both a paediatric dietitian and a sports dietitian.

“Being able to bring back and practice the experience and knowledge that I gained abroad has been rewarding. I have continued to learn, particularly in the area of Sports Nutrition. South Africa has a phenomenal number of sporting fraternities, both at an elite and recreational level. Everyone is looking to improve their performance.”

In working with people from all walks of life, Kerryn also helps clients with various health and lifestyle conditions by providing unique and tailored nutrition solutions to achieve their personal goals.
